Professor Melanie Bahlo

Professor Melanie Bahlo is the “Healthy Development and Ageing” Theme Leader at The Walter and Eliza Hall Institute of Medical Research. She leads a 14 member research lab working on bioinformatics, statistical genetics and genomic analysis, investigating the causes of genetic disorders, including speech disorders. Melanie has a strong background in statistics. She has more than 20 years’ experience working on the analysis, and methods development for analysis, of large genomic and transcriptomic data sets. She leads the bioinformatics analysis in the CRE for Speech and Language.
